Recyclemania at Colleges and Universities
Presented by NRC’s College and University Recycling Council
Colleges generate a variety of waste streams from industrial to residential. This session highlights an innovative inter- and intra-collegiate recycling competition with students who live in on-campus residence halls and apartments. This competition has been growing in the past four years while recovering hundreds of thousands of pounds of materials. It also serves as an opportunity to educate tens of thousands of college students to reduce their waste for the long haul. This creative competition can be used in a variety of applications to reach diverse groups of people and organizations.
