December 7, 1999 Conference Call Minutes

Attendees: Julie Aplington, Jack Debell , Pamela Flattich, Pete Pasterz, Kerry Krumsiek, Nancy , Krista Henkels, Kurt , Fritz Franke

Workshop Task Group

Value of Counsel oriented tracks. It was decided that the tracks would be valuable.

The Task Group looked at ways Counsels can collaborate needs, commonalties, availability as a pseudo track, recommend tracks based on individual’s particular needs. Concerns – changing calendar, counsel representation on NRC planning committee.

Action Items

Proceed with ½ day pre-congress workshop
Work on session planning for full congress
Need lead person on pre-Congress Workshop(all)
Need volunteer to head up the coordination of the pseudo tracks on the Congress (all)
Think about volunteers for our next conference call (all)

Council Guidelines

Take a look at the Guidelines and provide feedback to Pete by our next meeting.

Areas of concern: funding proposals, direct and indirect expenses, and overhead.

2001-2001 Work Plan

Put together final work plan. Make decision on particular line items and who will be responsible for them.

Current committee activities & how that affects the budget

Continue with "In Kind" supported activities

Membership - Krista will look into better ways of increasing membership

Carry over the intern idea – we will work out logistics

Tool Kit – (revising soft drink contract & purchasing terms for schools) - post consumer content optional vs. mandatory – anticipate continuing expenses posting products

Program Profiles - What kind of budget support is needed there?

Steering Committee Info Packet – printing costs

Cookbook – what is the status? Educational strategies to be put together for the future

Pam will contact Roger – Tara

Look at last year’s Work Plan (all) – Pete will start an e-mail dialogue.

Special Note: Next fiscal year starts April 1, 2000

There is a standing meeting the first Tuesday of every month @ 12:00 EST.

Next meeting will be January 11 – 2nd Tuesday of the month due to the holiday.
