Work Plan

1. Major action steps

The Council will conduct membership survey.
Keep this item with additional effort on deciding to use an intern. [MEMBERSHIP]

Send targeted mailings inviting peers to join.
On-going. May want to focus on regionally targeted mailings. Should work on our marketing of CURC/it’s benefits through our information. Need to track our response rate better through reports from NRC. [MEMBERSHIP]

Members to call colleagues to encourage them to join and become active.
Continue this with addition of “ADD” item below [ALL/MEMBERSHIP]

ADD Draft a list of tangible benefits CURC offers to its members. [MEMBERSHIP/OUTREACH/ALL]

ADD - Include a piece in the NRC newsletter (Erica will submit this to kivi@ecoscribe.com) asking members to find the recycling contact at their alma mater and send it to NRC who will send a membership packet to them. [ERICA/OUTREACH]

ADD - Develop campaign to recruit new members from RO affiliates. [MEMBERSHIP]

Plan, and conduct another successful workshop at the Annual Congress
[CONFERENCES]

Develop and update curricula for APPA institutes, train and maintain faculty pool, and promote and market NRC/CURC to this audience.

a. Continually send curricular related information to Jack to include in this, operations, collection equipment, methods, organization, funding, etc.

b. Need to have a supply of membership brochures to distribute to APPA (Jack needs 300 brochures by Jan. 25 for an APPA event. Craig will look into status of printing new brochures.) [STAFF]

ADD - Figure out a way to have an on-going CURC column or update piece in various newsletters (NRC, APPA, RO’s, etc.). Perhaps an intern could pull this together. [OUTREACH]
