Presentation
Julie Muir, Stanford, -- Status of the CA Collegiate Recycling Council's
(CCRC) "textbook" project and possible CURC/CCRC collaborations.
CCRC
is moving forward with their textbook (nuts and bolts, support,
equipment needs, etc.) on contract with CA Integrated Waste
Mgmt. Board (IWMB). Still some argument over the "audience" for
this book: CCRC wants to direct it to administrators/recycling
coordinators/facilties people/etc. and IWMB wants it
to be written to grounds keepers/people
servicing recycling bins.
This will be a CA IWMB manual and there isn't any info. yet on how
and to whom it will be available. CA IWMB does plan
to post the chapters on their web site, which is accessible, www.ciwmb.ca.gov.
Would a CURC letter of support be useful to help CCRC move forward
with the manual (emphasizing there is a need for
it, directed to a certain audience, etc.)? Would a letter be appropriate
for CURC and/or
is it
something we want to do?
Julie will e-mail steers the table of contents for the textbook so
we can look at it and determine whether or not and
how we might support this.
Anyone with knowledge of the history of this project should also
provide comments/input.
