Conferences [regionals eval]

Krista, Pete, Dale, Roger & Luke need to get together & discuss this more partnering (add on to RO conference) & fewer stand alones

Outreach-no report

Roger suggestion that courtesy email to Recyc-l and/or CURC list when CURC
meeting minutes are posted to web site- good start toward larger goal of how
to communicate better with members further discussion of notification of members & distribution of info in July

Roger working on the APPA connection- work on a local connection for the regional APPA groups - how do we use our resources regionally and not give up a national connection with them?

we need to start looking at memberships/partnerships with other (non college/university) non-profits & for profits-- some kind of partnership rate? how do we tie into other orgs? development issue- relationships that we've developed/not developed over the years-- need some sort of parameters on who/why/how we enter into partnerships. Member privacy policy restricts sale/exchange of mailing list- NRC guidelines & policies. How does privacy policy impact the CURC profiles? Profiles are voluntary & NRC members only.

Membership

Keefe & Ann absent

Purchasing

wanted to discuss what Purchasing means & if we need to have a core group dealing with this issue.

Others

what other committees might we need/want? thoughts needed here please!

6] Regional Rep roles

what's the appropriate role for Regional reps? APPA contacts? courtesy message with info on Steering Committee minutes-- stronger communication on what CURC is doing. Regional contact for technical info without duplicating work of state "CURCs". how best to work with these groups? Enhance what's going on at state level. Pete/Roger will send out a Regional Rep - who we are, what we do etc. to the RR's.

7] NRC Awards judge

we have a volunteer. sorry...it's top secret!

8] CURC's role in Program support

larger issue of some role that CURC can play in struggling/ under fire programs. How do we add value to those kinds of issues. Good opportunity for Regional Reps nvolvement.

How & if CURC can help? What can we do?
How prepared are we to get into the qualitative issues? Core operation?
Peripheral operation? Building sustainable programs? How do we evaluate a particular circumstance? Do we/ can we provide a more generic advocacy for recycling in operations?

Generic promotional/advertising approach?

What's your idea?
