CURC Steering Committee
July 16, 2001 Conference Call Minutes
In attendance: Pete, Keefe, Pat, Pam, Butch, Roger, Julie (later)
Minutes from last meeting approved. Pete will let Julie know.
1. Seattle
Pam, Ann and Butch are not sure if they can attend. Roger is tentatively
yes.
Role for regional
reps—this should be resolved before Seattle
so full year can be resolved—discuss on next call.
Informal get-togethers:
Christine Risher von Kolnitz wondered about free CURC get-together
events. Should there be a CURC only thing? Yes!
Sat. night at 8:30 at Jennifer’s suggestion. Pat made the motion.
Keefe seconded that. Butch motioned to have an informal close down meeting
on Tuesday night at 8:30 again at Jennifer’s location. Pete will
talk to Jennifer about locations.
Saturday or Tuesday evening seems to be best for informal get-together.
CURC steering committee will tentatively meet Sat 29th (2 or 3 hours)
and Sunday Sept. 30th (2 or 3 hours) in evenings for meeting.
CURC business meeting will be on Tuesday at 4:00-6:00.
Will CURC have a
booth at the conference? Add to the Questions for Kate list….
2. Accountability
Recap from last meeting: have lead person in charge of a workplan send
Pete dates of expected completion to set targets and check in points.
Pete will send out reminder email about this.
3. Committee Reports
Membership
Please see Keefe’s
email from 6/25/01 for outline.
What
does CURC offer? Why be a member? Ideas to improve CURC membership
include
1.
Providing a monthly email newsletter to members
2. Updating contact info for current CURC members
3. Contacting non member about becoming so
4. Creating a new member contact info book
Students at Keefe
or Ann’s office would be good resources to get
the info—or NRC intern if that can be worked out.
Keefe and Ann should work with Kate on getting current info and status
of NRC intern.
Should also address why should someone be a member of NRC and regional
organization as well.
All CURC steering committee members should please contact Ann or Keefe
and let them know why they became members.
Pete will have a current membership list from NRC sent to him, Ann,
and Keefe.
Conference
Krista will schedule a conference call to discuss the future of CURC
Regional Workshops.
Purchasing
Will discuss next meeting.
4. Other
Please
contact Pete about making the August 20th meeting.
