1] Elections
update
3 nominations
have been submitted thus far. We have 7 open positions. Identify and
contact anyone you can think of who might consider
serving on the board or might know someone who would. Nominations
are due this Friday. We will wait to see how many we get by Friday.
If
we do not have 7 nominations, we will extend the nomination period
by one week.
2] Baltimore
planning
Pete has
not had any luck reaching Pat Moran. We do have an e-mail from Pat
Dollar expressing some interest in working with
CURC. Pete will talk to Pat to see what interest she has and if she
has any other contacts in the area. Rob knows of a conference hosted
by the U of MD and the MD Dept. of Environmental Health & Safety
and will contact some of the people involved to see if they have any
contacts or ideas for us. Pete will also contact Bob Stumpf at U MD.
Call for
papers was put out but no update on what the college/university track
submissions are. Pete will contact NRC and/or Karyn Kaplan about this.
3] Work
plan update
Pete sent
out the final work plan information last month and submitted it to
NRC. NRC budget approval is coming up but no feedback
yet on the status or response to our work plan and budget.
4] Rapid
Response
Ed was going
to draft a letter and discuss rapid response on this call. However
as he's not present today we will discuss later.
Dale has drafted something for this and will share it with Ed.
5] ABC's
submittal process
Roger is
not on the call to facilitate this discussion. Julie and Carolyn have
not yet had a chance to discuss this or incorporate
it into comments for Karyn and Christine. Dale and Rob have comments
that they will send to the group.
6] Committee
Reports
a. Profiles & Benchmarking responses are coming in with 8 or 9 submitted
at this point.
b. Newsletter - would be nice to do it again if we have someone who can
write it. Might want to do something Earth Day-related. Could send a
request to CURC
members to submit ideas/articles on what they are doing for Earth Day
with a goal to get something out this spring. Julie will send a request
out to the
CURC member list after our election process. Carolyn will edit/compile
a newsletter. Will include Earth Day activities and general CURC update
information. Will
send out a plain text in an e-mail and post a fancier version on the
web site.
