Angie will send the updated list of verified CURC/NRC members
to all. Julie will update the CURC distribution with these members and
Sheela will verify member status of those voting. Ballot should get
out this afternoon
(depending on time necessary to update e-mail list) with deadline Friday
as planned.
2] ABC's
status update
Hold till
Ed and Pete are available.
3] San Francisco update
a. Workshop – Fee will be $50 per person. Catering will be beverages in the
morning with a mid-morning snack. Workshop will run from 8 a.m. – noon so people
are free for afternoon tours. CURC will split the revenue with the CA collegiate
group. Need 50-60 people registered to break even. CA group will bring a projector
so we don’t have to rent one. Still planning to do a power point presentation
of those who submit program information, and a CD of the presentation will
be distributed to attendees. Pat will draft a request for information slides
for distribution to our members. Will do the grab bag again this year. Roundtable
topics include: Operations & Reuse Issues; Organics; Large Venue/Event
Recycling; California Schools Specific Topics; Tactics for Defending Your Program;
and Funding Methods & Sources. Workshop will be held in the convention
center.
b. Social – Planning a progressive evening with all stops accessible by public
transportation. Will distribute a schedule so people can join in at any stop
along the way.
c. Meetings – Not scheduled yet.
d. Booth [has been approved, and should be provided at no cost to our budget]
4] Membership
Angie
has been working closely with Richard Brundage, NRC, and is making
progress.
a. We do have a list of CURC/NRC members approved by NRC. Angie
will distribute this (see #1 above). 3 part list – first is the members who have opted for
CURC-specific membership; second is a list of college/university NRC members
who have not actively opted for “CURC membership;” and third is a list of those
CURC members who’s status is expired. Angie is going to send an e-mail asking
those “expired” to see if there is a mishap or a forgotten renewal.
b. What's going on with the Listserv? Richard is going to work on the
NRC/CURC listserv for us. Also may be able to do a restricted access
bulletin board
for CURC discussion. Angie will discuss with Richard the options of
Listserv vs. distribution list format.
5] New NRC
web hosting service
See above
or wait till Pete’s available
to discuss further.
6] Rapid
Response
Update when
Pete is available
Humboldt and Western Michigan updates
7] Letter
of Support for Recycle Mania
All on the
call agree that CURC should support Recycle Mania for an NRC Award.
Also agree that Ed
should draft the letter of support for CURC steer approval to get the
ball rolling.
