Join The National Recycling Coalition

College and University Recycling Council

The College and University Recycling Council (CURC) was formed in 1992 and became a technical council of the National Recycling Coalition in 1995. CURC is a network of campus-based recycling professionals who face similar challenges and opportunities in managing college and university programs.

Each year the 10-week period from mid-January through late-March, schools compete in multiple categories measuring everything from highest per capita recycling to overall diversion rate and waste minimization. Schools report measurements on a weekly basis in pounds recycled per student living on campus. The RecycleMania event provides students with a fun, proactive activity in waste reduction. CURC is proud to be a sponsor of  RecycleMania. More details about the competition can be found here.
