FUND DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
The National Recycling Coalition, Inc. (NRC), a 501c (3) nonprofit corporation, is seeking a management level, experienced professional to lead its fund development initiatives. The NRC is dedicated to the advancement and improvement of recycling, source reduction, composting and reuse by providing technical information, education, training, outreach and advocacy services to its members and the public in order to conserve resources and benefit the environment. Based in Washington, D.C., the NRC conducts programs, advocates for policy and publishes information on effective recycling practices and programs.
NRC’s 4,000 members include recycling professionals from the public and private sectors, large and small businesses, as well as local, state and federal government agencies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of NRC’s fund development program to support the general operations of the NRC as well as assist program staff in identifying and recruiting funds for specific projects that support the NRC’s recycling mission.
The fund development director will be responsible for recruiting volunteers from the NRC membership including the volunteer board of directors to develop and implement an effective portfolio of development and fund raising initiatives. This position reports directly to the chief staff officer of the NRC.
Top priorities include development of a diversified portfolio that will generate unrestricted revenues, along with foundation and grant revenues and corporate donations.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have a strong, diverse and successful record of fundraising in a non-profit setting.
Other requirements for the position include:
·excellent oral and written communications skills and financial management expertise.
·demonstrated ability as a self-starter with high level of initiative and confidence
·ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines
·Other management experience in a non-profit organization
