Darryl Young - Executive Committee At-Large

 

Darryl Young is the Director of Sustainable Design at the Summit Foundation in Washington DC. Most recently he was the Executive Director and General Manager of Riester, a national social marketing, advertising and public relations firm.

Previously, Darryl served as the Director of the California Department of Conservation a $1.2 billion agency responsible for one of the nation’s largest and most successful recycling programs.   His career includes service as:

· President, National Recycling Coalition.
· Director, Governor's Office of Planning and Research
· Member, California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection
· Chief Consultant, Senate Natural Resources Committee
· National Media Director, the Sierra Club
· Legislative Assistant, Assemblyman Sam Farr

Darryl spoken on a wide variety of sustainability issues before audiences around the world and has advised organizations and institutions on sustainability.
